John Hale leads the Scientific Services Division (SSD) of BLIS Technologies. BLIS is the developer of probiotics (good bacteria) for application to the oral cavity and skin. The SSD focuses on the core research and development behind both current and new probiotic strains.

John has gained experience working in a commercial scientific setting ensuring that our R and D activities across core research, development requirements, clinical trials regulatory, IP, fermentation and quality control comply with the appropriate requirements.

Further, John holds an adjunct role at the Dept Microbiology and Immunology at University of Otago and continues to bridge academic with commercial science.  John has been elected to the Board of Directors of BioTech NZ and more recently, the International Probiotics Association (IPA) https://ipa-biotics.org/group/board/.
